New 11.6-inch MacBook Air Pictured. Will be Out Next Week?

Scheduled for next week, Apple’s Back to the Mac event is set to unveil such things as OS X 10.7 (Lion?), iLife ‘11 and an all-new MacBook Air.

AppleInsider reports of MacBook Air’s drying up supplies at major retailers like Amazon, MacConnection, MacMail and J&R. All the previously mentioned retailers are showing “no stock”. Such shortages tend to occur when Apple prepares to overhaul a product line.

If rumors are to be believed, the next MacBook Air will also include a 11.6” option (instead of the usual 13.3”). It will be of unibody construction like the MacBook Pro and will allegedly have the option to replace an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV with one of AMD’s offerings.

Next up is Engadget’s post which, once again, allegedly  shows a MacBook Air opened-up and de-screwed to show its innards. If the photograph is to be believed: it looks like the new Air will be unibody (like we just mentioned above), have a bigger battery and have straight-up USB ports (no drop-down side-ports), a Mini DisplayPort and an SD Card reader.

Our belief is that there will be a new MacBook Air next week. The product is long long overdue for a true update and Apple should definitely do something to make people not forget the once-thinnest notebook.

These are, of course, rumors. So it’s best you take them with a pinch of Sodium Chloride and wait for the official announcement from Apple next week.

PwnageTool with Limera1n will Jailbreak (Untethered) iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch 4G on iOS 4.1, 4.2 & Beyond for Life !

Just a couple of hours back, iPhone hacker MuscleNerd tweeted to say that he thinks that iPhone Dev Team has found a way to extend current untethered jailbreaking tools to work on all A4-processor based iOS devices.

Think we’ve figured out a way to extend PwnageTool + limera1n + @comex hacks to untethered JBs for all future A4 firmwares :)

It was previously thought that once iOS 4.2 is out, Apple will patch the userland exploit bits which are implemented alongside bootrom exploit in Limera1n and GreenPois0n tools. What this meant was that even though Limera1n and GreenPosi0n will be able to pwn all A4 devices (iPhone 4, iPad and iPod touch 4G) on future firmwares like iOS 4.2 and beyond, but with tethered-jailbreaks.

But now, it looks like iPhone Dev Team has figured out a way to make it work on PwnageTool, Limera1n and hacker comex’s userland based exploits. If this turns out to be true, it would mean that all future A4-processor based iOS devices (such as the iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G) will get untethered jailbreaks for life.

For those of you who don’t know, there are two basic kinds of iOS jailbreaks: tethered and untethered. Tethered jailbreaks require users to plug in the jailbroken device to a computer every time they need to restart it. Untethered, on the other hand, does not necessitate such tomfoolery.

This Diamond-covered iPhone 4 is the World’s Most Expensive Cellphone. Costs a Whooping $8,000,000

In countries where Apple doesn’t officially support iPhone 4, prices go as high as $1500 for a software-unlocked set. But that really is nothing compared to what British designer Stuart Hughes has managed to pull off.

Yes, dear readers. What you see above is a rose-gold-plated iPhone 4 covered with 500 diamonds. This customized iPhone 4 was made for a mega-super-duper-uber rich Australian businessman.
From Small World:
The handset is wrapped in more than 500 individual flawless cut diamonds totalling 100 carats.
It features two interchangeable diamonds which fit over the ‘home’ button – a single cut 7.4ct pink diamond and a rare 8ct single cut flawless diamond which are together worth more than £4 million.
The back of the phone is plated in rose gold and the Apple logo glitters with 53 diamonds.
The customized handset costs a whopping $8 million ($8,000,000). You would have to sell 615 kidneys to buy one. So unless you have 615 kidneys or are immensely rich, look away

White iPhone 4 Spotted in the Wild. Owner Explains the Reason Why You Cant Get One Right Now..

Back in July, Apple officially announced that they would be delaying the white iPhone 4 to a non-specific date (sometime later in 2010, according to an email exchange) because they were turning out “to be more challenging to manufacture than [Apple] originally expected”.

No one knew what was so challenging about something so seemingly simple as producing white iPhone 4… until today.

Pocket Lint stumbled upon a tastefully dressed man at a New York City press event today who was in possession of a white iPhone 4. They took some scandalous photographs and then went ahead to talk to the person to find out the what, the how and the why…

The person first requested anonymity. After being granted namelessness, he responded by saying that Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino were swimming with white iPhone 4s and that a friend of his managed to get him one.

He further informed Pocket Lint that the reason behind the white iPhone 4 delay is that the color of the home button isn’t exactly matching the color of the front face plate.
